I started the gym as a member 3 years ago . As I loved it so much & could see the difference it was making to members lives I decided to train as a coach . Taking my Level 2 qualification & then also Spinning . 

Fitness has always been part of my life in some form mainly playing hockey at club level & representing The North Masters . I am a Dental Hygienist too which I have done for almost 30 years. 

I love being able to support women to make the best version of themselves through Strength training & enjoying exercise. Outside the gym I have 2 grown up sons I love my gardening / walking my Lab & spending time with family .

I'm a level 3 qualified personal trainer and fitness coach based in York. 
 
I haven't always been in to health and fitness, in fact, for most of my life it's been quite the opposite! I've been overweight and unfit throughout my adolescence, right up to my early 30's. Just the thought of an exercise class, setting foot in a gym or taking on a personal trainer would have had me sweating! 
 
After MUCH persuasion I was finally convinced to go to a fitness class at my local sports centre. It was there that I had my epiphany moment! The instructor was fun, motivating, engaging! She made the class such an enjoyable experience that I knew it was what I wanted to do. Without knowing it, that instructor had changed my life forever. And now I want to do the same for you!
 
I've now been in the fitness industry for over 6 years and have helped countless people transform their lives through fun and engaging training programmes and fitness classes. So whether it's one-to-one training, training in small groups or energetic and motivating fitness classes you're in to, I've got you covered!!

I’ve been a coach now for coming up to 9 years.

Growing up I was overweight, which led me to establishing the gym back when I was 17 when my mum moved me from Bolton to York.

I found a passion for helping people when I spent 4 years working in retail once arriving in York. I then decided to join that up with my new found love for the gym & begin helping people through the same transformation I’d been through.

I am passionate about exercise, connecting with new people & making the gym a fun, friendly & welcoming environment.

More recently I’ve found my passion move towards overall well-being. Using exercise as a tool to build key life skills like resilience, confidence & self-worth.

I now personally use exercise to feel great, as I realise that overflows into all other areas of life.

I love to do martial arts, running & strength & conditioning.

I am always happy to help & I’ll always do my best to bring energy to your sessions.

Jane Mitchell

My name is Jane and I got back into fitness after a long break after having 6 children. I was a professional ballet dancer in my youth, training in Russian ballet technique in West Street School of dance in Covent Garden London and have never really lost my passion for fitness but just didn’t have the time to enjoy it. 

I am now 54 and began my journey back into fitness almost 4 years ago and had such amazing results at this very gym that I was asked if I’d like to train to get my qualification to help others learn to love what they see in the mirror and I can honestly say I’ve never loved a job more in my life. 

I look forward to helping you on your personal journey.

I've been Level 3 PT for 3yrs, love my job helping people reach there health & fitness goals . Have represented England U-21s at RU & BARLA GB at RL.

Competed at CrossFit, Strongman & Triathlon. Climbed 3 of highest mountains in the world, but really just a dad of 2 grown up kids, trying to live my best life.

Yoga and Fitness Coach

I’ve been practicing yoga for about 20 years and training in the gym for nearly as long. I decided to get my yoga teaching qualification after the end of a long relationship—as a gift to myself. I wasn’t even sure if I’d teach by the end of the journey, but the amazing studio owner where I trained booked me in for a class the week I got back… so I said yes. And I was hooked.

While everyone else was making sourdough and banana bread during lockdown, I made my own project: earning my Level 2 PT qualification.

Strength, flexibility, and fun are my passions—and I bring all three into every session. My greatest reward? Seeing someone do something they never thought they could.
